Vintage G-96 Knife Makers Choice #860
Jet-Aer Corp. of Patterson, NJ started selling knives in 1973 till about 1989 taking classic knife designs manufactured by companies like Buck and Gerber and having them produced in Seki, Japan and advertising them for sale in Sporting Magazines.
Good Condition G-96 Brand Model No. 860 "Jet-Aer Corp., Paterson, J.N. 07524 USA" on blade tang. "Japan" on the other blade. Overall length: 8-3/4" Blade Length: 4". Also, on blade; G 96, Knife Makers Choice, No 860. Brown Leather Knife Makers Choice Sheath. The Knife Makers Choice Knives were made using the best in craftsman and materials at the time.
Handle: Made of multi-layers of genuine Teak and Ebony hardwoods, bonded together with super hard resins at very high pressure
Sheaths: Constructed of top grain cowhide, then "Oil Stained" to a beautiful brown finish. All stress points are stitched and inverted.
Blade: Hand crafted of the finest steel alloy(440C). Each blade passes thru separate processes, including heat treating to 1020C and rapid cooling in annealing oils to 20c, to produce a finished blade hardened(R57-59C). This blade will take and hold a razor sharp edge better and longer than other satinless steels. Folding knives feature lock blades.
Bolsters: Are made of Solid Brushed Stainless Steel that will never tarnish and needs no care.
Knife and sheath have been used, shows scratches and wear but no abuse. Everything good and tight, a great carry knife that won’t make you look like a Greenhorn. A unique and high-quality knife in the design of the Buck folding knives.
