Vintage Frontier Imperial 435 Double Eagle 7 7/8” Drop Point skinning Knife with leather pouch style sheath.

The Frontier Knives were made by Imperial (Imperial-Schrade) from 1976 to 1984 using older Schrade tooling at their Imperial R.I. plant. Their description of these knives in their brochures was, "Each Frontier Series blade is precision ground and tempered to a uniform hardness of 57-59 on the Rockwell C scale.”

The knife measures 7-7/8” with a 3 5/8” drop point blade. It has hefty hardwood scales for the handle with 3 large brass pins holding it together. The blade is high carbon steel, hollow ground for easy sharping. The knife is tang stamped FRONTIER with the Powder Horn Emblem on one side and 435 IMPERIAL STAINLESS USA on the other. One side of the blade is etched FRONTIER DOUBLE EAGLE.

 Drop Point skinner

  • OAL 7 7/8"
  • 3 5/8" Carbon Steel Blade
  • 57-59 Rockwell C Scale

The knife shows no sign of being used or sharpened. The wood handle is good and tight, the sheath is great condition. With its carbon steel blade, this is a great all-around knife, perfect for bushcraft, hunting or collecting. Judge from the photos.
