Smith & Wesson Folding Hunter model 6060 - production number 19261

In 1972 Smith and Wesson worked with well-known and innovative knife designer Blackie Collins to introduce the company into the knife business. This program was announced in 1975, and seven knives were initially offered.

The only Blackie Collins designed folder was the 3 1/2" #6060 Folding Hunter. As S&W did not have the ability to manufacture folders until they set up the Houlton plant in the 80's it was made for them under license by Alcas. The fixed blade knives of the 70's (the Survival Series) designed by Collins were made at the Smith & Wesson Factory in Springfield.

German Silver bolsters are carefully silver soldered to the brass bolsters and the Wessonwood handles are locked to the liners with nickel silver rivets. Full size 3.5" blade is a dropped point design with flat spline for full working support right down to the tip. One piece stainless steel spring and locking bar. Overall length is 8". Blades were 440 Stainless Steel. Serial # 19261

Knife in NOS with box, warranty, sheath (still in plastic) knife and brochure. A great collectible. Serial number on box and knife match. #7
