Browning USA Model 37181 Drop Pt

This Beautiful Browning Sportsman Series Knife Model 37181 was built in the USA; designed by a young Gil Hibben in the 60's, a decade before Rambo III or Star Trek movies made him famous as a gifted knife designer and maker. The Browning 37181 is a Drop Point Hunter with an overall length of 7 3/4″ overall and a blade length of 3 1/2″. The blade is 440 Stainless Steel. The handcrafted basketweave sheath was made in Mexico.

In the late 1960s Browning offered an amazing series of knives. Designated the Sportsman’s Series they were outright hunting knives, both folding and fixed blades made to complement Browning’s firearms in the field. Browning had knives made in the U.S., Germany, and Japan. The knives proved durable and well designed for the tasks at hand. The USA knives were made in a small knife shop in Utah.

This 37181 has been carried and used. The Stainless Steel blade is sharp. There was a small chip on the blade but it has been resurfaced. The handcrafted Mexico sheath is in great condition. Judge from the photos. A great all-around game and camp knife with just enough of that used look.
