1998 Marbles Expert II Knife
1998 Marbles Expert II with Cocobolo Gamegetter handle
Many collectors regard the Marble knives made during the Mike Stewart/Lauerman Era (1997-2002) to be the finest Marbles knives produced in many years. Their use of 52100 steel for the blades, innovative designs, and quality control make them sought out by both users and collectors. After that time Marbles started having knives made in China and was the reason for Mike Stewart’s departure to form Bark River Knives.
The Gamegetter Cocobolo handles are not only impressive but functional. Instead of ending in a hard aluminum or stag pommel the handle flows downward in a gentle flared design with palm swell providing a comfortable and positive grip. This knife had some signs of early corrosion on one side from being stored. Judge for yourself from the photos. A great carry or collectible.
