1973 S&W -Blackie Collins Knife Kit
1973 Smith & Wesson- Blackie Collins Kit Knife #0416
In 1973 the S&W Blackie Collins kit knife was produced, a 4-piece kit that consisted of the Stainless-Steel blade with full tang, brass finger guard and pommel and a hardwood handle. Sheaths were not included. The S&W Kit Knife was never officially authorized for sale by S&W but included the same S&W logo used on the Texas Ranger knife and on its entire Survival Series Knives. There were only a limited quantity produced.
This kit was completed in a rough manner and need to be re-done. The brass guard and pommel as well as the hardwood were probably lost, and someone made their own out of metal. The blade #0416 is in great shape and included a NOS Blackie Collins/S&W sheath from the Survival Series. Like most, the belt snap needs repair, and the current handle is too large for the secure snap. It need to be properly shaped or replaced.
Great opportunity to make create something unique with a geat vintage blade.
