Handmade 3.5” Stainless Steel Drop Point Hunter
These knives are listed on the Ichiro Hattori site (below). It is identical to the Sharp Model 1000S that was imported into the US in the late 1970s to 1980s. 8" OAL, 3.5" Hollow ground blade of AUS-8 Stainless Steel. The Star M Handmade brand was imported from Seki, Japan for K-mart who also offered the Sharp 1000s.
This knife is listed used, but judge the condition for yourself. The sheath is in great condition. These are excellent drop point camp and hunting knives; the hollow ground Stainless Steel blade is very sharp, cuts and handles extremely well. My favorite BBQ knife.
Hattori later issued this knife as the H-109 Drop Point Hunter, with a 3 1/2″ Aus-8 blade, Nickel Silver Bolster and rivets, rounded and shaped grained Mahogany handle with brass lanyard hole.
