70’s S&W Model 6070 Skinner, production number 15170

A sturdy, hardworking skinner design with a 3.5" drop point blade/ Wessonwood handle is tapered and curved down to the pommel for best skinning action. Finger groove blends into a single quillon guard for sure working grip. Weighs 6 oz and is 7 5/8" overall length. Only 15,500 produced, forged in house by the S&W knife shop. This is number 15170 at late production knife which had a brass inlay on the pommel perhaps for initials.

This knife is used and the S&W medallion on the side of the handle is missing as well as the insert in the pommel. The S&W forged blade is in good condition. Judge the condition from the photos. The Wild Boar Leather Co. sheath is a perfect fit. A good, all-purpose drop point knife with a USA forged stainless-steel blade.
