The Seki, Japan crafted Fighting Bowie, RG 45 is based on a design by renowned Japanese knife maker Takao Fukuta, the first Japanese person to be accepted into the American Knifemakers Guild.

Tak FUKUTA moved to the USA in 1970 to sell knives and continue to master his craft. In 1978 he was recognized by Robert Wald “Bob” Loveless, known as the “god of knives” in the United States, with whom he began an apprenticeship. He created this knife upon his return to Seki, Japan. The RG-45 knife blade is 7.5” long with an overall length of 12.0”, resembles the Randall Model 14 blade design and it’s made from 1/4" thick stainless steel. You will see the steel of many of these Seki, Japan knives at this time listed as 440c, it is believed there were the Japan equivalent steel of AUS 8. This is a beautiful, well balanced Fighting Bowie Knife.

This NOS Knife has the factory Black Leather Sheath and original box. Box shows some wear and someone wrote Special forces on the box. Condition of knife and sheath excellent but judge for yourself. This is the knife you get.
