One September 23, 2009 Marbles Knife Company declared bankruptcy ending a period of over 100 years as one of America’s premier knife, and axe manufacturers. Known originally as MSA (Marble Safety Axe) their unique axes and designs helped to quickly build their name and reputation. The fixed blade knives were manufactured in Gladstone, Michigan, folding knives and axes were built overseas to exacting standards. If you have always wanted to own a Marbles knife, axe, brass compass, or matchsafe - now is the time.
I went on-line that evening and ordered from the distributor as many of the Made in USA classis knives as I could find, especially those with handles of leather, stag or unusual wood. This is part of that inventory.
PLEASE NOTE; THE BLADES MAY HAVE A FEW SPOTS ON THEM. I STORED THEM IN THEIR ORIGINAL BOX, IN THE CARDBOARD SLEEVE, NOT IN THE SHEATH BUT I LIVE IN THE PACIFIC NW, HUMIDITY IS A WAY OF LIFE. THESE SPOTS MAY OR MAY NOT BE REMOVED BY POLISHING, I DO NOT KNOW. HOWEVER, I LEFT THEM AS I FOUND THEM WHEN I PHOTOGRAPHED THEM IN ORDER TO PRESENT A TRUE IMAGE AND NOT TRY TO HIDE ANYTHING.
Elmer Fitzwillie notes; "I have always loved Made in USA knives like Marbles. They are tough and durable, easy to sharpen and have a beauty all their own. Marbles was an innovator with their designs and built these knives for the outdoors, especially camping and hunting. They represent a true piece of Americana."
